Peri L. Rainbow is an author, clinician, educator, and activist whose life’s work has touched hundreds and shaped history. Before their recent move to Northern California, Peri and her family successfully challenged the state of New York, advancing marriage equality and adoption law.

Peri was a member of the faculty of the State University of New York for over two decades, teaching Gender and Sexuality Studies, Humanistic/Multicultural Education, Behavioral Studies, and Counseling Psychology. She received recognition for pioneering work in the treatment of psychological trauma and her commitment to community mental health, education, and welfare.

Peri holds a Master’s Degree of Professional Studies in Humanistic/Multicultural Education from the State University of New York and received post-graduate training through Harvard Medical College’s Boston Trauma Center.

Peri is not licensed by the state of California and offers services congruent with California state law. Peri is a trained psychotherapist and dispute resolution counselor. She is a certified practitioner of Accelerated Resolution Therapy®.
