Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Kathy Long attended St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida earning a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling.

In 2010, Long was trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) at the University of South Florida to study its effectiveness on trauma symptoms. She feels honored to have been a part of a group of clinicians as they studied ART and its impressive ability to alleviate the negative effects of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She has also participated in educating other clinicians in this approach at several Army bases such as Fort Belvoir, Fort Hood, Fort Drum and Fort Stewart.

In her private practice, True Light Counseling in Tampa, Florida, Long works with civilians and veterans and their families addressing issues of depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
